Glory Days

teddy bear

We met under bright lights
Starting a fire
And did we glow bright
As we kissed that night

But now the lights fade
and the colors grey
We start to forget
the glory days

Like flowers so shy
Like clouds in the sky
The ever-changing tide
Suddenly passed by

Locked in our prison
Screaming, wondering
Why we jumped in
The bright days faltering

Now it’s cold
Glory days feel old
I swear I chased fool’s gold
But who knows

Those days are overrun
Swallowed up, overdone
Wondering when I’ll see the sun
So much said, so little done
