Lay My Weary Head

Monumental stones of marble weigh down on my heart
Tis stones are carvable but they have crushed me apart
Darkness, like before the dawn, steals over my soul
Lost and forlorn – it’s hard to stay alive in the cold
A blazing fire dying out, embers flickering in and out
Ruined redoubts with enemy hordes circling about
I’m so tired of being alone and forever haunted
Just want somewhere called home to lay my weary head
