Just a Teeny Flame

firefighter

On the road, in a car, what should I see,
But a little fire on the roadside near me.
It seemed so weak and small—
Just a teeny little flame, that was all.

I saw it on the news that night—
A monster burning everything in sight.
An enormous massive giant,
Standing there, tall and defiant.

Great big houses were now burned down,
Houses and houses for miles around.
Many people were sick and ill,
And many livestock had been killed.

How could something so big,
Come from something so small;
I turned away in awe —
Just a teeny little flame, that was all.

Story behind the poem:

Hi all, today, I stumbled upon this poem in my archives. It was written about three years ago. I just thought I’d post it here. Lots more to be uploaded soon. Thanks for reading. 🙂
